Caerwen Martin (MMusPerfHons) has trained in instrumental music in Perth, Germany, England, Croatia and Melbourne. Caerwen is the founding member of Melbourne’s premier contemporary string quartet, Silo and also works as a composer and arranger for film, dance, theatre, live performance ensembles and recordings.

Caerwen has worked with a wide variety of ensembles including Skin String Quartet, Libra Ensemble, Astra Choir, David Chesworth Ensemble, Aphids, Maps Kobenhaven, The Black Arm Band, Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Made, Raga Dolls Salon Orchestra and the Lachlan Symphony Orchestra (Principal). Participating in numerous international tours since 1998,

Caerwen has performed in such places as New York, Washington, Johannesburg, Slovenia, Brussels, Copenhagen, Croatia, Amsterdam, Vienna, Salzburg, and throughout Germany. Caerwen is highly regarded for her versatile and innovative approach to the cello.

In 2008, Caerwen performed Below the Star-Stretched Sky an Australian and Korean New Music concert with Silo String Quartet and Barrie Webb on trombone at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York City.
